JaQuita Natasha Velez of Gary, IN was born on September 28, 1981 in East Chicago, IN to Ethel Jean Frazier and William Velez. JaQuita was baptized and received Jesus Christ at an early age at El-Bethel Apostolic Church under the late District Elder Earnest Walls. She graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 2001. JaQuita received her degree as a Medical Administrative Assistant from Everest College in 2009.

JaQuita was a faithful member of Greater First Church International under the leadership of Bishop Tavis Grant II, and a dedicated member in the music ministry. JaQuita was a Sickle Cell Warrior, and a fighter. She was full of laughs, always singing and smiling, even when it was hard. She was caring, thoughtful, supportive, and always willing to help. JaQuita loved her family; especially children. In her words “Quita love the kids”. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, having a good time, shopping, and going out to eat. JaQuita met and later married her husband, Adriane Lang Goudeau on July 3, 2014. She was a devoted wife, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend.

JaQuita Velez-Goudeau departed this life on Thursday, May 3, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Jean Frazier; daughter, Asia Jean Williams; grandmother, Ophelia McCray; grandfather, Eugene Dixon; nephew, Savion Boyd; Bessie Scott, grandmother-n-law.

JaQuita leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Adrian Lang Goudeau; five sisters, Tiana Frazier, Tonya Velez, ShaKonda Velez, Marquita Velez all of IN, and Sade (Willie)Velez-Boyd of Pearl, MS; three brothers, Darryl Frazier, Anthony Velez, and Enrique Velez all of IN; sister-n-law, Tara Robertson; mother-n-law, Elizabeth Goudeux. She also leaves to cherish her memory, aunts; Sharee (Tyrone) Brown, Vanessa McCray both of IN, and Felicia McCray of Memphis, TN; two step children, Carmen Lang Goudeau and Leslie Lang Trotter; great aunts, Ethel Bell Boyd, Annie Mae Frazier, Arlene Frazier all of IN, Lenora Root, and Willie C Wright of Tupelo, MS; great uncle, Charles Frazier of Tupelo, MS; godchildren, Sania Jones, A’Mari Robertson, Ma’Khyla Robertson, and Leianna Sutton; godmother, Perdea Coleman; special friend, Tisharyr Jefferson; best friend, Sandra Fuller, and a host of other siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.
