Leon King, Jr. was born to Leon and Dorothy King, Jr. on December 4, 1946 in Atlanta, GA. Affectionately known as “Butch”, he graduated from Roosevelt High School and later enlisted in the United States Airforce. Afterwards, Leon was employed at Inland Steel. He later married Darlene Moore on April 6, 1968 and to this union, one daughter, Brigitte King, was born. One of his favorite sayings was “That was alright.”
He will always be remembered for his bright smile and genorsity.
Leon passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at home. He was 71.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents Leon and Dorothy King; son Taron France; brothers Carlton Bass and sisters Diane Perkins and Cynthia King.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Darlene King; sons Tyrone, Jermaine, and Michael; loving daughter Brigitte King; brothers Paul (Sharlene) King and Bobby Bass; sisters Sandra Williams and Linda Hill; grandchildren Keith, Ashley, Tileisha, and Larry: great-grandchildren Brianna, Quintez, and Daniel; special friend Vanessa and a host of other family and friends.
