Mary Perkins

Mary Florence Taylor-Perkins was born May 10, 1920 in Greensboro, AL to her parents Richard and Henrietta Taylor. She was the youngest of three children. Later, Mary migrated to East Chicago, IN in 1949. She was employed by Miller Produce of Blue Island, IL and the School City of East Chicago. Mary was a member of the Metropolitan CME Church where she served on Missionary Board as Secretary. She was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Society, Board of Trustees, and Willing Workers Pastor’s Aide. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Henrietta Taylor; husband Willie L. Perkins; daughter Willie C. Northfleet and son Robert L. Perkins. She leaves to cherish her memories her children Gloria Hemphill-Russell of Indianapolis, IN, Terry A. Alexander of Gary, IN, and Mary D. Wright of East Chicago, IN; six grandchildren Rhonda Kyle, Delton Henderson, Terrell Wright, Keisha Poe-Hinton, Terese Alexander, and JoaJuan Hemphill; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, adopted children, other family, and friends.
