Mary Alice Woods was born April 4, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of William and Mary Elizabeth Woods, Sr. She received her education through the St. Louis public school system and later graduated from Soldan High School. Mary, her siblings, and cousins Gloria and Diane were all raised together in the same house. As a child, Mary was always fun to be around. She had a unique and bubbly personality.
After graduation Mary relocated to Cleveland, OH where she was employed at New York Frozen Foods. Mary met Robert Wilson, Sr. and in January 1978 they were joined together in holy matrimony. Mary and Robert were blessed with one son Robert Wilson, Jr. aka Rob. He was the twinkle of her eye.
Years later, Mary relocated back to St. Louis and was employed at Pillsbury Bakery until she retired. Mary loved her family she enjoyed being with her brothers and sisters. She had a very relationship with her son. They talked about everything. She was his best friend and he was hers. Mary would often say that “She trained him well.” Mary was the epitome of a Daddy’s girl. Her final request was to be laid to rest next to her father.
Mary departed this life peacefully on April 11, 2018. She is now reunited with her father William Woods, Sr.; brother Dwayne Woods; maternal and paternal Grandparents, uncles and aunts.
She leaves to forever cherish her memories her husband Robert Wilson, Sr.; beloved son Robert “Rob” Wilson, Jr.; loving mother Mary Elizabeth Woods; brothers William Woods and Pierre Woods; sisters Denise Woods and Paula Mayo; one uncle Brinkley Beard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
