Rosie L. Holiday was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama on May 12, 1936 to the late Clyde and Annie Newsome. Rosie was the youngest girl of nine children. She confessed her faith and accepted Christ at an early age. Up until her illness, Rosie was a faithful member of New Second Baptist Church which she loved dearly. She was a devoted member of the Usher Board where she later taught and mentored young members to serve as gatekeepers for the Lord’s house. She worked for 20 years at St Catherine Hospital where she spent her break times visiting patients and praying for them and of course giving them her beautiful smile which was so contagious. She cared for others deeply and was always ready and willing to help and love and share what she had. She loved to sing “Oh happy day, when Jesus washed my sins away”. She entered eternity on April 18, 2019. Rosie is preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers: Gertrude Loveless, Ruby Ricks, Jett Newsome, Charles Newsome and Marble B. Newsome.
