Toni Winters

Toni Y. Winters was born October 3, 1955 to her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Edwards, Sr. Toni accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frazier. She attended the City of Hammond school system and graduated from Hammond Tech. After high school she attended beauty school. Toni later married Jeffery Winters on August 7, 1993. Later, Toni joined New Zion Temple under the leadership of Bishop Brandon Jacobs. Toni later retired from UPS after 12 years of service. Toni loved her family and had numerous family gatherings. She also was the caregiver of her mother for many years until her passing in 2017.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Barbara Edwards; son Anton Warren; siblings James Edwards, Jr. and Bernadette Wilson and grandson Isaiah Edwards.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Jeffery Winters of Hammond, IN; son Cheque (Dawn) Edwards of Fargo, ND; siblings Henry Robinson of Las Vegas, NV, LaToya (Anthony) Protho of Gary, IN, Cynthia (Jeff) Smith of Hammond, IN, Tammy (Jeff) Edwards and Tricia Edwards both of Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law Gerald (Tonya) Winters of Arlington, TX; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; special friend Rhonda Payton; caregivers Patrice Brand and Marilyn Sellars and a host of other family and friends.
