Vickie Reese was born to Edward W. and Cora Lee Reese, Sr. on March 4, 1952. Vickie was the fourth child to her five siblings. Vickie grew up on the south side of Chicago, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Vickie loved Chicago, however wanting to provide a better life style for her three sons, she relocated to East Chicago, Indiana. She was very friendly, outgoing and extremely involved her son’s education making sure they were raised with love, dignity and respect for all.

Vickie expressed the importance of a high school education with a strong emphasis on politeness and respect for elders and family. Vickie instilled the old school method of making sure her sons always answered her and any other adults with “Yes Ma’am & Yes Sir” there was no exception to this rule, which made her three son’s very productive men today. Vickie had many friends, whom she loved and considered family more than friends. Vickie received one of her most precious gifts in the world besides accepting Christ in her when her loving granddaughter Sharay Maylee Reese was born and had become her heart and soul.

Vickie started attending Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized by Rev. J.C. Wade, Jr. Later Vickie became a Prayer advocate with Sister Pearlie Eatman, who also became a spiritual advisor to Vickie. While residing in East Chicago, Vickie became the neighborhood babysitter providing services to many working mothers. Vickie met her husband Steve Scott and the relocated to Cartersville, Georgia before finally settling in St. Louis, Mo to closer to her youngest son Edward and his children.

Vickie Reese-Scott, was called home to her heavenly father on Monday, April 16, 2018. Proceeded in death by her husband Steve Scott her loving parents Edward W. and Cora Lee Reese, Sr.; siblings Edna Quinn, Marvetta Reese, and George Reese.

Vickie leaves her wonderful memories to her loving sons, Mark C. Reese of E.C. Indiana, Robert & Tashia R. Reese, Sr of North Carolina and Edward P. Reese of St. Louis, Mo.; siblings Edward Reese, Jr and Dorothy Reese; her most prized possession, her grandchildren; Sharay M. Reese, Robert Jr. Li’ge, R’uhon V. Cody, Re’Gene Rosario, Jasmine Reese, Re’ Mohna Rosario, Paris Raymond-Anthony, LIL ED (Edward Jr.), Demonte, the twins Ethan & Evan Reese and her loving granddaughter Asa Vickie, her last sweetie pie; Vickie’s devoted loving friends; Diane (Blondie), Thelma Smith, Lynel Jones (Poochie), and Vernita Youngblood along with great grandchildren and friends whom she admired and love so much.
