Vicky Renee Bryant was born April 15, 1958 to Johnnie and Ella Mae Kilgore. Vicky went to sleep surrounded by her family July 19th, 2018 at 4:33pm. She was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Ella Mae Kilgore; paternal grandparents Alton and Ada Smith; maternal grandparents, Tommy and Deal Nichols; 2 brothers, Robert and Leroy Johnson; 5 uncles, Charlie, Ollie, Sammie Lee, Tommy Nichols, Earnest Dinkins, and Herbert Kilgore; 2 aunts Lula Mae Wheeler and Vivian Kilgore; 1 niece Latasha Jones.

 

Vicky attended the Hammond Public Schools and shortly after was united in marriage to US Army Spec. E4 Warren Bryant Jr and to this union 1 son, Tyneal Bryant was born. Vicky later continued her studies later at Ivy Tech University and Indiana University Northwest. Vicky received her Certified Nursing Assistant license and worked for Countryside Healthcare and Hartsfield Village where she gained many friends.

 

Vicky went to New Hope MB Church where the Reverend W.W. Grover and Reverend Willie Frazier were the pastors. In later years, Vicky was baptized in Jesus name at Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church where Elder Charles Taliefero was the pastor. Vicky received the gift of the Holy Ghost a few months later. Vicky became active in Emmanuel Temple under Bishop Wallace Johnson Jr. Vicky was a member of the Usher Board, assisted in the outreach ministry, and she loved to sing, often singing solo’s during the service. She would sometimes assist in the kitchen ministry, when needed.

 

Vicky will be truly missed by every one that knew her. She was loved by her family and friends and had a special relationship with each one. She had an infectious smile and a beautiful smooth soprano voice. She was very outgoing and would befriend anyone she came in contact with. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out.

 

Vicky leaves to cherish her memory 1 son, TyNeal (Anisa) Bryant; 3 grandchildren, TaNeil Bryant of Indianapolis, IN; TyNeal “Juice” Jr. and Teron “Dude” Bryant of Hammond, IN; 7 sisters, Mary (Willie) Byas of Hampton, GA; Joyce (Edsel) Brown, Wilma Johnson, Angela Ewing, and Carol Kilgore all of Amory,

MS; Ada (Kevin) Myles of Hammond, IN; and Phyllis (Melvin) Graham of Shannon, MS; 1 uncle, Walter (Ida) Nichols of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and special friends too numerous to name.

 

A special thanks to Bishop Wallace and First Lady Rochelle Johnson for the special care and love that was shown to Vicky, and also to the Greater Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church family that not only spoke about love, but showed it to her everyday.
