Adelbert Harris

Adelbert Harris was born February 12, 1984, to his parents Albert Battle and Deborah Harris in East Chicago, IN. He was the fourth child born to this union. 

Affectionately known as “Bam,” he attended schools in the East Chicago Public School System and worked diligently at Zel’s Restaurant in East Chicago. Later, he joined and attended Zion Missionary Baptist Church after accepting Christ in his life. 

Adelbert will always be remembered as the life of the party and he loved spending time with his family, friends, and loved ones. He spent his time making the people around him feel happy. There was never a dull moment when “Bam” was around.

Adelbert Harris passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, IN. He was 38. 

Adelbert is preceded in death by his parents, Deborah Harris and Albert Battle; brother, David Lee Harris and nephew David Anderson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Treyonna, DeAndre and Aniya Harris; brother Trevor (Iyana) Harris; sister Taxi (Talib) Becktemba; nephew Trevor Harris, Jr.; nieces Brianna Becktemba and Tiyanna Harris;  great nephew Quincy Austin; special auntie and uncle Cheryl and Edward Harris; aunts Diane Coleman, Yolanda Jackson-Culver, Jo-Marie Harris and Charmaine Florence; uncles Edward Harris and Tyrone Harris and a host of other family and friends.
