Allen Dennis Obituary/Virtual Registration

Allen Ray Dennis, Sr., the first of three children born to the late Horace and Erma Dennis on June 22, 1944 in Union City, Tennessee. At an early age, Allen accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Free Will Missionary Baptist Church in Union City, TN. Later he moved with his parents to East Chicago, IN. He was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1963. Later, Allen joined Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served with passion at the door of the church as an Usher under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J.C. Wade, Jr. He was drafted into the military and upon his completion, he was employed, for over 30 years, at Inland Steel Company. After retiring, he joined his son in New Orleans, LA where he lived until he moved to a small town near his birth place called Hickman, KY. He lived there until he made his transition on Thursday, February 1, 2018. He leaves to cherish his memories his son Allen Ray Dennis, II, M.D. of Atlanta, GA; grandson Patrick Allen Dennis of New York; sister Joan White of Merrillville, IN; brother Willie (Joyce) Williams of Union City, TN; 4 nephews Frelon Cross III of Dallas, TX, Bruce Williams of Nashville, TN, Jason Williams of King George, VA and Jackie D. Williams of Greensboro, NC; special cousin Barbara Mardis of Hammond, IN and a host of other family and friends.
