Alma Laura Lardydell was born September 22, 1940, to her parents Idella Davis and Frank Howard in Canton, MS. Alma confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late W.L. Jones. Alma later moved to East Chicago in 1959, where she was united in holy matrimony to Arthur Lardydell, Sr.
Alma was a former employee at St. Catherine Hospital as a dietician. She was also a former and devoted member of Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. K.B. Long, Sr. and was currently a member of New Starlight Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mark Frazier.
Alma’s special sayings were “You know I love you!” and “Praise God, Thank you Jesus!”
Alma Laura Larydell passed away November 1, 2022, at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. She was 82. Alma is preceded in death by her parents Idella Davis and Frank Howard; husband Arthur Lardydell, Sr.; brothers Leon Anderson and Kelpha Howard; sisters Hazelteen Kershaw, Willie Mae Marshall and Bennie Ruth Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter, Vicky (Charles) Lardydell Bazemore; son Arthur Patrick Lardydell; granddaughter Nicole A. Raye; grandson Marcus E. Lardydell; three great grandchildren Raquan A. Robinson, Kyran O. Brown, and Ariyah N. Brown; sister Helen Sanders; brother Cleotha (Pam) Davis; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; special niece Cassandra Kershaw Bell and a host of other family and friends.
