Anderson Jackson

Anderson Jackson was born on March 11, 1936, in Tallbotton, GA to his parents Marvin and Gennie Bell Jackson. Later, he married Earlene Howard in 1956 and to this union, nine children were born. They later moved to East Chicago, IN and there, Anderson worked numerous jobs. In 1972, he began working at Inland Steel until his retirement in 1997.

He joined New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in 1987 were he faithfully served as a Trustee, usher, and van driver for many years.

Later, he married Bernett Snelling in 1999 and they remained married until Anderson’s passing. 

Anderson Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, IN. He was 86. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Gennie Bell Jackson; daughters Lorene Jackson and Elaine Campbell; grandson Jarvelle Luckett; sister Gennie Pearl Davis and brothers Daniel and Raiford Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Bernett Jackson; sons Anderson, Jackson, Jr., Darvis and Joshua Jackson; daughters Dorothy, Laquitta, Sharene, and LaShawn Jackson, Sherry (Clint) Berry and Nicole (Raifu) Sanusi; stepdaughters Andrea (Dwayne) Butler and LaTanya Snelling; one stepson Duane Snelling; brother Bishop (Marcia) Jackson; sisters Runy Mitchell, Fannie (Charles) Brice and Nazaerine (Wallace) Braggs; 29 grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
