Annie L. Simmons-Glover was born November 30, 1955 to her parents Andrew and Hattie Simmons in East Chicago, IN. She was the 6th child born to this union. Affectionately known as LuLu, she accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Herman Baptist Church in East Chicago, IN under the leadership of Pastor Andre McGhee. Annie attended East Chicago public school system and later was employed at Ameristar Casino where she later retired in 2019. Annie met the love of her life, Eddie Glover, in 1974. They later married and had three beautiful children. Together, they enjoyed 46 years of marriage working hard and raising their beautiful family all while making an honest living for themselves. She rededicated her life to Christ in 2001 at Mt. Herman Baptist Church. Annie enjoyed playing card games, playing pool and darts. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was the life of the party and very outspoken and outgoing. One of her special sayings was: “I ain’t fattening no frogs for no snakes.” Her family, friends, and loved ones will remember her food especially her macaroni, how much she loved and adored her family, her conversations and laughter, her sense of humor, her loving spirit, vibrant smile, and the many hats she wore to take care of her family.

A dynamic woman, Annie Lou Simmons-Glover was compassionate, giving, resilient, funny, exciting, loving and honest to the core. She was an original and very true to herself. She was perfectly imperfect and that’s what we all loved about her. That in itself proved that she was a strong woman of faith and will. Annie L.
