Anthony Carr

Anthony Wendell Carr was born March 23, 1957 to his parents Jacquelyn and Orville Carr. Affectionately known as Tony, he grew up in East Chicago, IN and gave his life to Christ at an early age. Anthony attended Franklin Elementary. During that time, he participated in the Indiana Harbor Little League and Biddy Basketball. Anthony later attended Block Jr. High School and graduated from Washington High School. Later, he was employed at the School City of East Chicago, where he enjoyed a long and successful career before his retirement.

Tony had a passion for sports and a deep love for his family. He was a mainstay in the bleachers of Central High School supporting the Girl’s and Boy’s basketball games.

Anthony Wendell Carr passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at his home in East Chicago, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacquelyn and Orville Carr and brother Floyd E. Carr.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters, Bonita (Lorenzo) Welch of East Chicago, IN, Gwen Elam and Beatrice Dillard of Cleveland, OH; brother Orville D. Carr of East Chicago, IN; uncle Clifford Ramer of East Chicago, IN and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
