Antoinette Sharp

Antoinette Renee Sharp was born on March 7, 1948 to her parents George and Luecida Sharp in East Chicago, IN. She was the second child born to this union. Affectionately known as Toni, she graduated from Washington High School in East Chicago, IN. Later she earned a degree in nursing at St. Margaret Nursing School and a BA in Theatrical Costume Design and Art Education at Chicago State University. Antoinette was employed at St. Catherine Hospital as a nurse, a teacher at St. Mary’s Elementary School, nursing instructor at Horizon Career College, nurse at the East Chicago Health Department and retired from 21st Century Charter School as the school’s nurse.

She served at Family Christian Center in the Health Professionals Ministry, P/C Arts, Costume Department and the choir.

Antoinette was a mother to everyone. She was always available for a loving and heartwarming talk and/or prayer. Her genuine, heartwarming smile, her patience, and supportive presence will be greatly missed. Antoinette Renee Sharp passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2020 at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. She was 72. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Luecida Sharp and sister Jeanette Johnson. Antoinette leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Aarynn (Donovan, Jr.) Bernard; grandson Donovan Bernard III; sister Kim Wilson; nieces Susan Johnson, LaTonya Patrick and Kyauna Smith; nephews David Johnson and Monte Patrick; eight grand nephews; three grand nieces and a host of cousins, other family and friends.
