Bertha Belton

Bertha M. Belton was born October 27, 1947 to her parents Johnnie and Pearlie Lee in Greenville, MS. Bertha confessed Christ at an early age and later, moved to East Chicago and attended East Chicago Public Schools. After high school, Bertha relocated to Indianapolis, IN where she resided for over 15 years. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Bertha loved her family, she enjoyed cooking, playing cards and going to the casino. Bertha was known for being late or the last one to arrive to an event because she was NOT going anywhere without her makeup on, her nails done, and the right outfit. She was a true diva and everyone loved her. Bertha M. Belton passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Regency Hospital in East Chicago, IN 46312. She was 72. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Pearlie Lee; brothers Spencer Lee, Robert Lee, John L. Lee, and Leroy Lee and niece Nikeitta N. Spencer. She leaves to cherish her memories her children Darryl Belton of Hammond, IN, Cassandra  Morris of Portage, IN, and Derrick Belton of Indianapolis, IN. 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Ruby Lee Spencer, Deborah (Arthur) Artis and Pauline Lee all of Gary, IN; brothers Dwight (Sheila) Lee of Gary, IN, Gregory Lee and Westley Lee of Indianapolis, IN and a host of other family and friends.
