Cassandra J Curtain

Cassandra J. Curtain was born April 14, 1956 to her parents Berda Jean Miller and John Curtain in East Chicago, IN. She accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J.C. Wade, Jr. Later, Cassandra graduated from Washington high School with the Class of 1974. Cassandra later attended Indiana University Northwest in Gary, IN where she earned her Bachelor’s degree and later her Masters degree in education and joined the sorority Delta Sigma Theta. She was hardworking, loving, and caring mother who devoted her life to her family, friends and loved ones.

Cassandra J. Curtain passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents Berda Jean Miller and John Curtain; stepfather James Miller; and granddaughter Talayna Curtain. She leaves to cherish her memories her son Terence Echols; daughters Tierney Scott, Tamika Scott, and Taquita Curtain; 11 grandchildren Tayden Page, Taliyah Curtain, Tayla Evans, Dante Evans, Jr., Tristian Tayloer, Jheremi Stewart, Jr., Talina Curtain, Taryn Scott, Tarion Scott, Kayley Goodlink, and Terence Echols, Jr; uncle Gene Gooch-Pearson; aunts Charlotte Gooch-Pearson, LaVerne Gooch-Dethron, Mary Gooch-Jones and Naomi Gooch; nieces LaDrea Russell and LaToya Weathersby; best friends Shirley Box and Beverly Bell and a host of other family and friends.
