DeAma Thomas

 On Friday, October 28, 2022, DeAma Thomas, affectionately known as Dee, passed away at the of age of 62. DeAma Thomas was born to Johnnie Pearl Young on August 28, 1960.  At a young age, Dee was adopted by his uncle and aunt, John (Jay) and Jean Thomas and moved to Chicago, Illinois to live with them. 

Dee attended South Shore High School in Chicago, Illinois and graduated in the Class of 1979. Dee loved to play football and was so talented that the National Football League’s followed his career while he was in high school.

Although Dee had worked in various occupations, his most recent employment was as a semi-truck driver. In the late 70’s, Dee began to attend Bethel Congregational Church of God in Christ in Hammond, Indiana with his mother and father.

In his spare time, Dee spent hours exercising, lifting weights, enjoying time with his dog and hanging out with his friends. On many occasions, he mentioned his connection and support that he received from each of his friends.

Dee will be missed by his brother, Tracey Young, his aunt, Janneth Amos, his special friend Beverly Robinson as well as many loving cousins and friends.
