Earl Milton Payton

Earl Milton Payton was born December 15, 1948 to his parents in Ripley, TN. He was the 7th child born to their union. Affectionately known as Milton, he accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in East Chicago, IN under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J.C. Wade, Jr. Milton enjoyed working with his hands and did various odd jobs for people in the community. Earl Milton Payton passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, IN. Earl is preceded in death by his father and mother, Gladys Payton; sister Shirley Ann and aunt Maxine Brooks. He leaves to cherish his memories his siblings Wayne, Lawrence (Erica), Steven, Derrick, Jacqueline (Genesis) King, and Dana; and a host of aunts, uncles, other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11am at Divinity Funeral Home 3831 Main Street East Chicago, IN. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery in Griffith, In. Rev. Dr. Charles L. Thompson, Jr., officiating.
