Elisha Woodard

Elisha “PJ’ Woodard was born January 4, 1992 to Sylveda (William) Reese and Elisha “PJ’ Woodard, Sr. at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. From a very early age, Elisha enjoyed family time and gatherings and would always “steal the spotlight” at any given moment. Elisha has many interests and talents. Whether it was singing, playing instruments, dancing, comedy, gymnastics, or acting he always found a way to make you smile or laugh. Throughout life, he continued to build a strong bond with his family as he continued to excel and entertain.

Elisha attended George Rogers Clark Elem. School and graduated from Gavit Highschool in Hammond, IN. He was one of the best cheerleaders the school had ever seen. After completing high school, he continued dancing and choreographing came easy to him. He was the leader of several dance groups and was well known in the dance world as “PJ.” From live auditons, seeing him on tv, and watching his dreams come true, his family was always proud of him nut never surprised at his greatness.

Although he was taken too soon, he was able to travel the world and see things many wish to see.

PJ is preceded in death by grandparents Franklin Raggs, Sr. and LeLa Wheaton; great-grandparents Sylvester Raggs, Lila Rias, and Willie Rias; great uncles Charles Rias and George Rias and great aunt Willa Florence.

He leaves to cherish his memories his parents Sylveda (William) Reese and Elisha Woodard, Sr.; grandmother Beverly Cotto, siblings Janecia, Elecia, Maurice, and Diamond; aunts and uncles Monique (Kofi) Raggs-Washington, Amber (Lewis) Raggs, Beverly Reese, Renee (Daryl) Raggs-Faust, Patricia Williams, Manuel Cotto, Marilyn Sellers, Corey Jones, Franklin Raggs, Jr., Jimmy Weems, Walter Kelly, McKinley Kelly, Gloria Kelly, Jeff Bowens, Carrie Woodard, Dion Bowens, Cherise Fordham, and Iesha Carter; special friends of the family Kevin, Nyosha, KeKe, Clifford, Brian, Lizzette, and bestfriend/cousin Artis Gilmore; godparents Sharon Harris and Indelaura Ford and a host of other family and friends.
