Ellen Thompkins

Ellen Ozell Thompkins was born in Mounds, Illinois on June 27,1942 to Governor and Floria Wade.  She departed this life April 25, 2020.

Ellen married her high school sweetheart Bobby J Thompkins on January 7, 1961.  To this union 2 children were born, Victor and Lisa.

Ellen graduated from Douglas High school.  She was member of Greater First Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Mothers Board and culinary Ministry.

She then became a Register Nurse at Indiana University which lead her to work for the Federal Government WIC program until she retired in June of 2019.

Ellen was preceded in death by both parents, husband Bobby and 4 siblings.  She leaves to mourn 2 children Victor and Lisa, 1 brother David Wade ( Iona) , 1 sister Lillian Wade.  4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  She will also be remembered by her in-laws Arlene Robinson , Bobby L. Thompkins and a host other relatives and friends.

Mother Thompkins was not only a natural mother but a mother to many which her love will also be missed.
