Freddie was born on September 13, 1951 to Sarah Edna Flemings & Freddie Lee Comer Sr. in Phoenix City, Alabama. He was the oldest out of five children. Freddie was affectionately known as “Maine.”
Freddie attended East Chicago Roosevelt High School and graduated in 1970. He also received a degree in culinary arts. Freddie worked for NIPSCO and Inland Steel. Although he did not have children of his own, he brought joy to the kids in the neighborhood. He would often make sure they all had ice cream from the ice cream truck. Freddie loved listening to music and dancing. His favorite artists were The Temptations and WAR. He loved football and his favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a very kind person and never met a stranger.
On January 15, 2022, Freddie Comer was called into eternity. He is preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Lee Comer and Sarah Edna Flemings, his sisters, Shirley, Betty, and Carolyn and also two brothers Steve and Rolley Comer. He leaves to cherish in his memory, two sisters, Gloria Comer and Laverne Clark and one brother Geraine Comer. Freddie also leaves behind six nieces, two nephews, two great nieces and four great nephews.
