George Thomas Copeland Jr.

George Thomas Copeland Jr. Ill, age 52, was born on a Saturday, August 26, 1972 in East Chicago, Indiana to George and Annetta Copeland. 

George attended East Chicago, Indiana public schools. Franklin elementary, and Central high, graduating in 1990. George excelled in basketball and obtained a scholarship to Triton College, in River Grove, Illinois, He majored in architecture He received certification in industrial electrical maintenance and electrical wiring 

At a young age, George joined and was baptized at the New Starlight Baptist church in East Chicago, Indiana where he was active in the youth choir and Sunday school. 

George was an avid sports fan, his team of choice was the Indianapolis Colts. He loved to read, do crossword puzzles and grill in his yard. He had a huge collection of baseball caps His favorite pastime was collecting and watching movies. George had many childhood and adult nicknames, and he loved being around his/family and friends. 

George was previously employed al Eakins Contracting and Refractory Services until a back injury. 

George departed this life, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Saint Catherine hospital in East Chicago, Indiana, He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Annectrice (Stewart) Hughtey, Indianapolis, IN, one son, Larenzo Morland, Gary, IN, three grandchildren: Amanya, Braylen, and Dame, his loving parents, George and Annetta Copeland, two brothers, Eric Copeland Sr. and Phillip Pace, a special nephew, Eric Copeland Jr. George also had two bonus children, Xavious Copeland and Lexianna Copeland, his fiancé, Kimberly Means, and a host of relatives and friends. 

George will be remembered for his love for his family and his family's love
