Isabell McClain

Isabell Hall McClain was born November 28, 1936 to her parents Oscar and Annie D. Hall in Midway, AL. She was the second of eight children. Isabell was educated in the East Chicago Public School System. Isabell received Christ at an early age. Because of her faith in Jesus Christ, she often expressed her love for our Lord and his love for her. She was employed as a nurse’s aid at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond, IN and later at various nursing facilities in the area. Isabell was married to the late Elbert McClain and from this union, one child Elbert McClain was born. Isabell was a feisty, but loving woman who loved her family and friends and was very protective of everyone she loved. Playing poker and going to the casinos were some of her favorite past times. Isabell McClain passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Gary, IN. She was 82. Isabell is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Annie D. Hall; son Patrick Ross; brothers Earl Arthur and Robert Hall and one sister Dorothy Carpenter. She leaves to cherish her memories her children Elbert McClain, Jr. of Merrillville, IN, Calvin McClain of Chicago, IL and Vanessa Flynn of Minneapolis, MN; two brothers Oscar Hall, Jr. of Gary, IN and Donald Hall, Sr. of East Chicago, IN; three sisters Martha McClain of Merrillville, IN, Barbara (Dwight) Richmond of Hobart, IN and Shirley Hall of Gary, IN; brother-in law Charles Carpenter of Gary, IN; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11am at Divinity Funeral Home 3831 Main Street East Chicago, IN.
