Jamey E. Jacque, Jr. was born December 14, 1949 to his parents Jamey E., Sr. and Laura Jacque in East Chicago, IN. Affectionately known as Lil Jamey or Jaime’, Jamey received Christ at an early age at Tabernacle Baptist Church in East Chicago, IN. He later attended the East Chicago Public School System and he later graduated from East Chicago Washington in 1968. After graduation, Jamey attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI on a track scholarship. Upon his return home, Jamey was employed with the City of East Chicago Streets and Sanitation Department for 15 years. Jamey enjoyed spending time in Callahan Park and he had a hidden, comforting spirit and untapped talents that those who were close to him could see and feel. His humor, quick wit, and ability to bring friends and family together were unmatched. Jamey, our beloved father, grandfather, cousin, and friend will be remembered for his gatherings at Baby (Callahan) Park, his love of family gatherings, especially the Jacque family reunions in West Point, MS. Jamey, forever active, was stricken in April with the COVID-19 virus. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his complications. Jamey Jacque passed away June 2, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, IN. He was 70.
Jamey is preceded in death by his parents Jamey, Sr. and Laura Jacque; cousins Michael Phillips and Sidney Blanchard.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Tysheana Jacque; grandchildren Amari Gibson, Mekhilah and Derrien Jacque; cousins Joni Jacque, Curtis (Faye) Phillips, Toni Jacques, LaCulia (Clarence) Pope, Zina Jacque, Curtessa Jacque, Rita Jacque-Gillis and Jay Ryan Jacque; special nieces and nephews Tikeya Wright, Brandon and Janell Neely, and Terrence, Jr. and Tamia Lay; special friends Janice Wright, Shirley Wright, Maurice Campbell, Larry Ross, Cordell Sheby, Darryl Stone, Hertis Shelby, Kenny McGuire, Sammy Buggs, and Alvin Delk and a host of other family and friends.
