Jeffrey Shelton

Jeffrey Lynn Shelton was born July 6, 1961, to is parents Willie James and Margaret Elizabeth Shelton in East Chicago, IN. He was the eighth child born to this union, with ten brothers and four sisters.

Affectionately known as “Golly,” Jeffrey accepted Christ at an early age. He attended the East Chicago school system and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1980. Jeffrey later attended Ivy Tech Community College earning his degree in welding.

Jeffrey volunteered at churches around East Chicago and was a handyman that could do anything, whether it was the way you wanted it or not.

Jeffrey has a lifelong partner Nora Campbell for decades. He was a loving and caring father to her daughter Elizabeth and a grandfather to her children. He most definitely, was a great son, father, brother and friend, especially to his buddy Ralph Stone.

He is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Margaret Shelton; brothers Freddie Lee Wilson, Clyde Matthew Wilson and Keddrick Maurice Shelton, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories his brothers Kenneth (Sharon) Clinton, Willie Shelton, Corey (Etoria) Shelton all of Gary, IN, Timothy (Domitrese) Shelton, Charles Shelton and Stephen Shelton all of East Chicago, IN, and William (Patricia) Shelton of Merrillville, IN; sisters Chris (Perry) Murrell of Williamstown, NJ, Janice Williams and Stacey Shelton both of Hammond, IN and Margaret Shelton of Merrillville, IN and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends, all of whom loved him dearly.
