Jesse Shelly, Jr.

Mr. Jesse Lee Shelly was born July 16, 1941, to his parents Jesse Lee Shelly, Sr. and Gussie Mae Shelly in Macon, GA. He later moved to East Chicago, IN with his parents. Jesse graduated from Washington High School in East Chicago, IN. He later went to work at Inland Steel in East Chicago, IN as a Machine Operator and Foreman, where he retired after over 30 years of service. 

Jesse enjoyed his volunteer work in the community and was well known throughout the community. 

Jesse passed away May 12, 2023, at Regency Hospital in East Chicago, IN. He was 81. He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse Lee Shelly, Sr., and Gussie Shelly and his five brothers. Jesse leaves to cherish his memories his sisters Lizzie McCullom, Gussie, Mary and Luminous Jesurun; brothers Sampson, Johnny, and Perry, all of Gary, IN

Jesse will be missed by all who knew and loved him!
