Joseph Wallace

Joseph Wallace was born February 10, 1960 to his parents Jimmy D. Mallet and Maggie L. Wallace in Allala County, MS. He was the oldest of three children. Affectionately known as Joe, he received Christ at an early age at New Ebenezer Baptist Church. Later, he attended and graduated from Washington High School. Joseph will always be remembered as a “jack of all trades” and someone who loved to help his community. Joseph passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, IN. He was 60. He is preceded in death by his parents Jimmy D. Mallet and Maggie L. Wallace and his son Joseph Briggs-Wallace. Joseph leaves to cherish his memories his children Dylan Wallace of East Chicago, IN; Tasha (Ishmael) Palmer of New Cumberland, PA; Maggie Briggs-Wallace. Tera Wallace and Brandy Briggs all of East Chicago, IN; grandchildren Dionte Williams; Dazjanique Williams; Destinee Spates; De’Asia Wallace; Dylan Wallace, Jr., and Lamicka Wallace; one great-grandchild Layia Gueyser; siblings Delilie B. (Alonzo) Carruthers of Clayton, AL and Charlie Booker of East Chicago, IN; aunts Ida Mae Hill, Mary Wallace; uncle James (Rose) Wallace and a host of other family and friends.
