Lottie S. Smith, 79 of Hammond completed her earthly journey Monday, July 15, 2019. She was born July 8, 1940 in Hermanville, MS to Willie Sr. and Hattie White. Lottie will be remembered for her love for community and helping people.
Lottie Smith leaves to continue in the faith: extremely dedicated sons; Minister Keith (Priscilla) Smith of Hammond, IN; Vernon (Ceona) Smith of Gary, IN and Sylvester (Iva) Thompson of Brandon, MS; loving daughters; Theresa (Jerry) Jarrett of Griffith, IN; Alexius (Malcolm) Barber and LeTerra (Edlin) Smith both of Hammond, IN; grandsons; Bernard (Anisa), Marques (Lisa), Kofi (Consuela), Ian (Courtney), Malcolm II (Rachel), Michael, Christopher, Brian, Brandon, and Keith II; granddaughters, LaKeia, Valerie, Kharnicia (Sidney), LeKeisha, Avanti, Victoria, Mariah, Sydney and Destiny;nine great grandchildren; precious sister LaDonna (Bobby) Davis of Mississippi; devoted brothers Willie (Vivian) White Sr. of Michigan and Kenneth (Clara) White of Mississippi; uncle Benny (Mildred) Jennings of Mississippi; sister-in-law, Johnnie Butler of Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends; Preceded in glory by her loving husband S. J. Smith and beautiful daughter Erica Sanee Smith.
She attended the Hammond Public School system and was employed by the Whiting Convalescent Home, Kenrow Plastics and the School City of Hammond.
