Lucinda Craig

Lucinda Craig was born March 27, 1952 in Tuscaloosa, AL to her parents Mr. Jeffrie C. Chambers and Ms. Luberta Rice. Lucinda was the youngest of 5 children born to her mother. Lucinda was employed for over 25 years at Purdue University – Calumet College Campus in Hammond, IN. While working there, she also attended classes and earned her Associated Degree in Business and Supervision. She was a loyal and faithful member of New Community Baptist Church until her untimely departure.

Lucinda Craig, age 65, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2018 at Franciscan Health in Munster, IN.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jeffrie C. Chambers and Luberta Rice; son Ferlando L. Bailey; siblings Joe A. Bailey and Mrs. Ollie P. Bailey (Thomas) Golson.

She leaves to honor her love and memories her sons Louis D. Jones of Hammond, IN and Antwone L. Craig, Sr. (Vangie Garcia) of Merrillville, IN; loving sisters Laura A. Bailey of Hammond, IN and Erise D. Williams of Gary, IN; sisters-in-law Ms. Shirley Williams and Ms. Brenda Herron; brothers-in-law Maurice Herron, Maverick Franklin, Carl Howe, Tommy Williams, and Robert Herron (East); 5 grand-children; 1 great-grandchild and a host of other family and friends.

The family of Lucinda would like to extend their gratitude to the ICU staff and Palliative Care at Franciscan Health Hospital in Munster, IN for their attentiveness and loving care.
