Lynell Holloway

Lynel was born on January 1, 1959, to William Edward Riley Sr. and Mary Francis (Bell)Doss in East Chicago, IN. She was the only child to this union. 

Affectionately known as “Pouchie”, she graduated from East Chicago Washington High School Class of 1977. She pursued a career in banking and finance until she opened her own Child Care Service (God’s Christian Academy).  Her Day Care was her passion.  She loved taking care of and teaching “her babies.”

Lynel passed away Friday, February 24, 2023. She was 64yrs old.  She is preceded in death by her son Terrence M. Smith, Parents; Mary F. & Jimmie Doss, Father Edward Riley Sr., Siblings; James Doss (Lil Jimmie), Charles E. Dates, and nephew Andre Doss.  Maternal Grandmother Ophelia Johnson and Aunts; Joyce Chandler, and Clastine Doss-Thompson, Uncles; Ervin and Charles Doss Sr.

Lynel leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Jimmie Holloway of Gary, IN; brothers-in-law, Jeffery Holloway and Calvert Holloway; sisters-in-law Stacey Holloway and Zelma K. Holloway; Siblings, Etoria (Corey) Shelton, Stephanie Doss, and Tauheed Doss all of Indianapolis, IN, William Dates, Dwayne Doss of East Chicago, IN, Belinda Michelle Doss of Mississippi. William Edward Riley Jr, Andrea Riley, and Carla Riley Stanley of Hammond, IN, Cousins; Kimberly Doss Patterson and Audra F. May, and a host of other family members and friends.
