Morris Jones, Sr. was born in Tampa, FL on March 28, 1945. Morris was affectionately known as Moe, he attended Milton High School and he later enlisted in the Army in 1965 where he served for 28 years. He ranked as E7 Sergeant First Class.
Morris was also a CTA bus driver for 26 years. He retired that job in 2006. He received a perfect attendance award while working at the CTA.
Morris met his wife, Gloria, while they were both working for the CTA. They were married in 1995 and resided in Hammond, IN.
Morris loved going on walks with his dogs, feeding birds and squirrels and roller-skating.
Morris Jones, Sr. passed away December 7, 2022, at Aperion Care in Demotte, IN. He was 77.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Gloria Jones; three sons Morris Jones, Jr., Reginald Jones and Johnny Martin, Jr.; daughter Johnetta Denton; eight grandchildren Maurice Jones, Omar Jones, Reginald Jones, Jr., D-Andre Jones, Geleesa Denton, Johnny J. Martin III, Jala Martin and Jamaya Martin and a host of other great grandchildren, other family and friends.
