Otha Lee Walker

Otha Lee Walker was born March 21, 1942 in Comer, Alabama to Lela M. Walker and O. G. Smith, Jr.
He later relocated to East Chicago, Indiana . He accepted Christ and was baptized under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. T. H. Rankin at Zion Missionary Baptist Church and later under the leadership of Rev. J.C. Wade in East Chicago, Indiana.
Otha frequently displayed his excellent culinary skills and disheswhen he preparedmeals for his family, church and the neighborhood. People would often drive by his home just to view the extraordinary flowers in his yard.
Otha was employed with the Shell Oil Company for many years before retiring.
Otha was preceded in death by his parents, Lela M. Walker and O.G.Smith Jr. Grandmother, Elle M. Walker andSister, Janice Kelly. He had a close relationship with his Uncle Jerry Walker before his death.
Otha departed this life into eternity Saturday, January 25, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memories 8 Sisters, Ruby N. Wilson, Bradenton, FL, Toni Jacques, Portage, IN, Carol Rodgers and Pamela Worlds ,East Chicago, IN, Sheila Olds Wetumpka, AL, Yvette (Major) Franklin, Kenosha, WI, Barbara (Tom) Davis,McDonough, GA, Lois ( Elijah) Massey, Eufaula, AL, ; 4 Brothers, Adrian Olds, East Chicago, IN, Larry (Rachel) Smith,Comer, AL, Horace (Geraldine) Smith, Montgomery, AL, Sylvester Smith (Wilola), Hampton, VA, and a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2PM at Divinity Funeral Home 3831 Main St. East Chicago, IN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Rev. Dr. J.C. Wade, Jr., officiating.
