Ralph Dexter Antoine was the son of the late Ralph A. Antoine and Helena E. Antoine. He was born on April 19, 1962 in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. He transitioned to be with the Lord on Monday, October 4, 2021.
He, his father, and his sister Jillian joined his mother Helena E. Antoine and his sister Eastlyn ”Anne” in the United States in 1971 when he was nine years old. His brother, David (deceased) later joined them. He grew up in Hammond, Indiana and attended Maywood Elementary, Eggars Middle, and Hammond High Schools. He met LaGail in May 1999 and the two would later marry in May 2003 in Indianapolis, Indiana. They had no children but Dexter was a father figure, mentor, and confidant to many young men who admired him for his ability to listen, effectively communicate, and share his experiences.
Dexter lived in Indianapolis, Indiana for many years before relocating to Maryland in 2004 for a job opportunity. His wife LaGail joined him in Maryland in July 2005. He was an Information Technology professional and worked for several multi-media companies and defense contractors during his career.
He was a kind, giving person with a great personality and positive attitude. He never met a stranger and could hold conversations about a variety of topics to include music, movies, politics, African American history and many others. Dexter cared deeply for his family and friends and did not hesitate to say “I love you” to those he treasured.
