Rebecca also known as Becky was born on May 30, 1931 to Anna Solomon and Stanford Evans in Coahoma Mississippi. Rebecca relocated to East Chicago Indiana where she met and married Howard Cheatham her husband of 66 years.
Rebecca became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and remained a member until her passing.
Rebecca worked at the A&P grocery store in East Chicago for many years and she also worked for the city of Hammond as well as Ruff Liquor store and Spiegel catalog. Her hobbies included bowling where she competed in many leagues and tournaments over the years receiving numerous trophies. Rebecca enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends playing cards and playing the slot machines, she also loved to travel.
She is preceded in death by her parents and oldest son John Henry Bradley.
She leaves to continue to celebrate her life a faithful husband Howard of 66 years; four sons, William ( Diane ) Adams, Leslie H. Cheatham, Kenneth Cheatham, Terrill (Yama) Cheatham and daughter Anna(Rich) Hudson; Grandchildren Tracey Bradley, Christa (Ron) King, John Jr( Iris) Bradley, Daryl Adams ,Franchot Adams, Elizabeth ( E’twuan) Moore, Leslie A. Cheatham, Tynisha Cheatham, Damion Hudson, Jason( Jessica ) Hudson; many great grandchildren; special daughters Yvonne Bryant , Valerie Clanton and Wyn Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, very special cousins, other family and friends.
