Roy Lee Washington, Jr. was born October 11, 1962 to his parents Roy, Sr. and Viola Washington in East Chicago, IN. Affectionately known as Junior, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, his walk with Christ lead him to become and Ordained Deacon at Christ Temple Church of Christ in Gary, Indiana.

He attended Hammond Tech where Roy was a track star and athlete, obtaining State, Conference and Regional metals. He was and is a proud Military Veteran serving his country in the United States Army.

Before entering the United States Army, Roy worked at Hammond Tech as a cook and that would be a start of his cooking career, after retiring from the Army, he worked as a Cook at Hyde Park Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, Head Chef at University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin, and Wal-Mart for 25 yrs where he would go into early retirement.

In October 1990, Roy met and began to hear what ''Doubly Covered'' would mean and on October 16, 1991, united in marriage to Tyneshia. Upon saying I do, his father-in-law stated a quote to him that he and everyone who knew him would stand in one accord with, his father-in-law stated: ''The Lord takes care of babies and fools, so my child, your wife is 'DOUBLY COVERED'', So all our prayers are for you!!

Roy was known as “The Gentleman's Gentleman'', he thrived on helping any one when he could and would show them the uttermost respect. To broaden this he joined a Community based, charitable organization, ''Prince Half Jurisdiction of Indiana Free and Accepted Masons''. He became a Master Mason of Lakeside Lodge #47, and is a member of the following Masonic Orders as well:

-           Magic City Consistory #62

-           Mahomet Temple #134

-           St John Royal Arch Masonry

-           Maude B. Herring #57 Order of the Eastern Star

-           Naomi Court #4 & Alpha Grand Court H.O.J.

-           Lakeside Lodge #47

On May 20, 2021, Jesus said ''job well done my good and faithful Servant'' and decided it was time to call him home, surrounded by family and loving friends. He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grand Parents, Maggie and Roy Washington, Maternal Grand Parents, Fannie Mae and James Marshal, and Mother Viola Washington.

He leaves to cherish his memories, loving Wife, Soul mate, and his rib Tyneshia; Sons McKinnley Roy Washington and Cordairus Washington, Roy Lee Washington III; Daughter Torey Jean-Marie Washington; God Daughter, Latorey Jewel-Lynn; Bonus Children, Maurice, Maurissa, Marquita, Keith Jr, Lauryn, Laycie, Lyric, Liyah, Dorian, Doryelle, Akiyah (Lemondrop ), Casey and Madison; Grandchildren, Shanda, Serena, Brooklyn Denise; Father Roy Lee Washington Sr; Brother Maurice (Tiffinnie) Washington; Sisters Yolanda Washington, Tammy(Michael) Butler, and Brother Marshal Washington; His Special connected by the Womb Sister, Laurentha Arnold, Special Ties that bind Friends, William Robinson, Anthony Snowden, James Lewis, Shannon Bryant, Angela Carson, Maxine Young and Wanda Puckett and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Family, and Friends.
