Theresa Currie

Theresa Currie was born May 6, 1956, in Ripley, TN to her parents James and Kitty Mae Currie. She was the first daughter of fourteen children. 

Affectionately known as “Big T”, Theresa was not a stranger to anyone. She enjoyed having a good time and was fond of good cooking, celebrations and sharing her wisdom and knowledge to her family, neighbors, and friends. 

Theresa’s greatest joy in her life was her family. She loved and loved strongly. Theresa was a dedicated and loving mother. She sparked conversations that would captivate you for hours.

She is credited for helping many families and friends through rough times. Theresa was the energy that kept family and friends going. One of her favorite pastime games was bingo and she always won. She loved to shop and always seemed to have a keen eye to find a deal. 

On Monday, July 25, 2022, at the age of 66, Theresa A. Currie gained her heavenly wings and her story came to an end. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Kitty Mae Currie; son, James Currie; brothers, Mike, James Jr, Bobby, Charles, Jessie Wayne, Tommy and Frankie Currie; and sisters, Margaret and Carolyn Currie. 

Theresa leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Sandy (Shelby) Jimerson, and son, Charles Currie. Siblings, Anthony, Sharon, Shenelia, Kenneth and Valerie Currie; grandchildren O’Shea, Ja’won and Desiree’; great grandchildren Anirah and Omariye’ and a host of family and friends.
