Tommie James Ridle, Jr. was born February 26, 1960 to Tommie James Ridle, Sr. and Mary Ridle in Fort Benning, Georgia.
Tommie or affectionately known as “TJ” accepted Christ at an early age and attended Zion Missionary Baptist Church in East Chicago, Indiana under the leadership of Rev. J.C. Wade, Jr.
Tommie graduated from the East Chicago school system – Field Elementary to Block Junior High and finally graduating from Washington High School Class of 1978. Tommie attended and graduated from Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana with a degree in Supervision and Technology. While at Purdue, Tommie became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. – NU Chapter.
Tommie worked in the Indiana Department of Correction as well as with several Nursing Homes in Northwest Indiana.
Tommie enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, and interacting with his grandchildren.
Tommie passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Michigan City, Indiana where he resided for over 30 years.
Tommie is preceded in death by his father Tommie James Ridle Sr., sisters Angela Ridle and Yoshimeda Ridle, grandparents Abraham and Emma Riddle, and Dennis Jenkins and Lillian Jennings, Aunts Arizona Cleveland and Jeannie Coney, Uncle Jerry Riddle, and Nephew Antwon Glover.
Tommie leaves to cherish his memory his Mother Mary Ridle, Daughters TraVonda Givens, Adrienne Williams, Felicia Ridle, RaShaunda Ridle, and Taylor Ridle, Sisters Deidre McGinnis, Nymia Ridle, and Dionne Austin, Brothers Carl Ridle, Cedric (Angela) Ridle, Trelane Ridle, Lavelle Ridle, Tyrone (Angela) Ridle, and Larry Austin, Grandchildren Nicole, Jenai, Tenayis, Ameerah, Caiden, Aunt Eleanor Magee, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
