Tony Chandler

Anthony (Tony) Chandler was born to the union of Mr. Clifton Chandler and Ms. Helen Ruth Gandy.  Tony was a loving, funny and caring person.  Tony was born in West Point, Mississippi on September 1, 1961, by midwife who was also his grandmother Cerula Chandler.  He received Christ at an early age while attending Grace Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Johnson.  Tony was born and raised in West point Mississippi and moved to East Chicago, Indiana during his teenage years.  

East Chicago is where he met the woman that he would spend the rest of his life with Delores Flemmings. During their union they started a family that lasted 31 years together.  He loved to be around family and friends and keeping them entertained.  He was always the life of the party, and never started his day off without watching the Price Is Right and an old western show.  Whether it was being at home or at the park, Tony was happy just to have his loved ones around.

The day of February 10, 2022, the Lord called him home at the age of 60.  Tony was preceded in death by father Clifton Chandler and mother Helen Ruth Gandy.  He leaves behind cherishable memories with his significant other Delores Flemmings, his sisters Darchell Johnson, Kathy Chandler, Alvernia Chandler and brother Stanley Chandler, his son Marlon Yates, his Daughters Tasha Chism, Larhonda Chandler, Lakeya Chandler and, grandchildren Kennedy Chism, Josiah Bell, Jacardea Bell, Justice Chandler (preceded in death) and Jayde Chandler, aunt Emma Hopkins, uncles Henry Lee (Manson) and Clamel Chandler, favorite cousin/brother Lamont Landon and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and well-loved friends.
