Waver Watson (87) lovingly called 'Wavy' by many, passed away on Tuesday Nov. 10, 2020. Waver was born on July 27, 1933 in Forest City, Arkansas to the late Charlie & Mary Watson. In his early years he moved to East Chicago, IN to make a better life for himself where he worked 30 years for the Inland Steel Corporation. Still, during a difficult time he overcame and endured many obstacles where he learned perseverance, even walking to and from work during the great snow storms at that time. He took care of responsibilities and was a man of his word. He was often known for saying 'I said it, and that's what it's going to be'...his yes was yes, and his no was definitely a NO, no changing his mind.
After retirement he moved to Aberdeen, MS where he enjoyed 28 years of retirement. Waver had a passion for fishing and gardening, loving all types of fish but his favorite fish was bluegill. He also planted many different types of vegetables, many trees producing pecans and other passionate fruit. He was a lover of animals and would oftentimes turn many of them into his pets, (he even had a pet Owl). He was also very good with his hands as a carpenter, taking on many jobs on himself- building additions to his home, and customizing his own vehicles, he was also an excellent cook-making a simple dish gourmet; basically a jack of all trades. He will be loved and sorely missed by his family and all that knew him.
